New Telangana outfit ‘expels' 4 leaders

New body to function with the sole aim of achieving Statehood to Telangana

HYDERABAD: A new outfit to represent officers and employees of Telangana floated on Saturday straightaway decided to expel four important leaders of Telangana Joint Action Committee (JAC) of officers, employees, teachers and workers which spearheaded the recent non-cooperation movement demanding Statehood to the region.

The leaders of JAC, K. Swamy Goud, V. Srinivas Goud, B. Deviprasad Rao and C. Vittal, were expelled on the ground that they hijacked the non-cooperation movement to serve their selfish ends. They made a shady agreement with government to end the stir, it was stated at the maiden meeting of the Telangana officers, employees, teachers and workers here on Saturday.

The presidium of the meeting comprising G. Srinivasulu, K. Gopal Reddy, T. Prabhakar and L. Tajmohan Reddy, told media persons later that the new body will function with the sole aim of achieving Statehood. All decisions would be taken on the basis of majority opinion of members. A general body meeting would be held shortly to discuss the future course of action.
